The National junior Honor Society is an organization that recognizes and encourages academic achievement at the middle school level while also developing other characteristics essential to citizens in a democracy. these ideals are scholarship, character, service, citizenship and leadership. Students must also maintain a 3.0 GPA and serve 10 hours of school/community service each year. Membership is thus both an honor and commitment.
